How we test
We measure small molecules by HPLC-MS on a high-resolution system and compare the measured mass with the expected mass for the stated formula. Purity is measured by UV detection.
If we have a reference standard we can measure the amount. If not, we report identity and relative purity and say so on the certificate.
What we measure
| Identity | Accurate mass compared with the expected mass for the stated formula |
|---|---|
| Purity | HPLC-UV peak-area purity |
| Content | Against a reference standard, where available |
| Report | Chromatogram, spectrum and any limits of the test |
What is on the certificate
- Sample description and stated formula
- Measured mass and mass error
- Purity and, where possible, content
- Chromatogram and spectrum
What to send
- Solid or solution in a sealed vial
- Name, formula or structure
- Any handling or hazard information
Please wait for our packing instructions before you ship. They confirm amounts, container, temperature and where to send the samples.
